    Arturas Mauruca, a 36-year-old man from Navan, was charged with unlawful killing at Trim District Court on 15 September 2026 following the death of 18-year-old man Mantas Jurkevicius. The alleged assault took place at the Watergate Bar and Kitchen in Navan on 21 June 2025. Mauruca had originally been charged with assault causing harm in July 2026, but that charge was withdrawn and replaced with the new unlawful killing charge. He made no reply when the charge was put to him, and the case was adjourned to 27 October for preparation of a book of evidence.

    A man in his late teens was seriously assaulted at a business premises on Watergate Street in Navan, Co Meath, at about 1:15am on Sunday 21 June 2026. He was treated at Drogheda Hospital, transferred to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin, and pronounced dead there on Wednesday 15 July 2026. Arturas Mauruca, a 36-year-old man, was arrested and charged with assault causing harm, and appeared before Navan District Court on 26 June 2026, where he was remanded on €500 bail. The post-mortem examination is complete but its results are not being released for operational reasons, and the matter is now before the court, with Mauruca due to appear before Trim District Court on 28 July 2026.
