On April 3, 2022, Arnoldas Muraskauskas, a 44-year-old man listed at an address in Newbridge, County Kildare, committed the offence of driving under the influence of cocaine and benzodiazepine on the M7 Monread North in Naas. On Thursday, September 12, 2024, Judge Desmond Zaidan convicted him in his absence at Naas District Court after he indicated a guilty plea through his defending solicitor. He was given a one-year driving disqualification, a €500 fine and three months to pay it. He has applied for an appeal, which will take place at a later date, as reported on September 15, 2024.
