  • Galway indecent assault offender released from Midlands Prison Sexual assault (indecent assault) · Co. Galway

    Anthony Spellman, a 50-year-old man formerly of Mervue, Galway, was found guilty in Galway Circuit Court in 2020 of 20 counts of indecent assault for sexually abusing an 11-year-old boy between June 1984 and January 1986. He was sentenced to four years in prison. Spellman was released from Midlands Prison just before Christmas 2022 and is expected to have returned to the UK. He had also been convicted of abusing a seven-year-old boy and held a Risk of Sexual Harm Order from South Cheshire Magistrates Court that expired in 2014.
