In the early hours of 13 September 2018, a 19-year-old man was mugged outside Londis on Westmoreland Street, Dublin, when a woman snatched his wallet and two other men demanded his phone. Anthony Dennis, aged 37, punched the victim, causing him to fall, and he and three others searched his pockets and took his phone. Dennis was identified from CCTV footage and pleaded guilty to assault causing harm at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court. On 7 July 2022, Judge Pauline Codd sentenced him to five years in prison, suspending the final year on the condition he keep the peace and be of good behaviour for one year post-release.
