Andrew Rowe, a 47-year-old man from Clonsilla Park, Dublin, pointed his shotgun at a young man at his neighbour's house during a 21st birthday party at 11.45pm on 7 August 2020, telling him to keep the noise down. The victim closed the door and gardaí were called, and the shotgun was found locked in its safe and not loaded. Rowe disappeared and was in the Isle of Man before returning to the jurisdiction in 2022, when he pleaded guilty to a possession of a firearm charge. Judge Martin Nolan handed down a three-year suspended sentence, noting Rowe has no previous convictions and his gun licence has since been rescinded.
