On 26 August 2025 the Dublin Crime Response Team searched a residence in Jordanstown, Oldtown, north Co Dublin, and recovered 38.5kg of cannabis valued at approximately €772,000, two military-style assault rifles, and 135 rounds of ammunition from a Nissan Primastar van locked in a shed on the property. Andrew McNaughton, 51, was arrested at the scene, and a second man in his 30s was arrested after a follow-up search at a second premises in north Dublin yielded a further €5,000 in cannabis. McNaughton was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis and having it for sale or supply, and was denied bail at Dublin District Court on 28 August 2025 and remanded in custody. The second man was also charged and is due before the Criminal Courts of Justice on 29 August 2025.
