Andrew Cash, 32, of no fixed abode, committed a series of theft, robbery and assault offences across Dublin between May and November 2020. These included taking a debit card and mobile phone from an unconscious man on Patrick St on 7 May 2020, robbing a Rathmines launderette at knifepoint on 21 October 2020, and punching a man in the face in Crane Lane, Dublin 2, on the evening of 9 November 2020, which left the man needing hospital treatment. Cash was arrested later that night for a separate robbery, and he was identified over the Crane Lane assault because he was still wearing the same clothes. He pleaded guilty to theft, robbery, attempted robbery and assault causing harm before Judge Pauline Codd at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court. On 31 January 2024 he was jailed for seven years, with the final year suspended.
