    Andrevs Smirnovs (32), of 11 The Laurels, Ballinalee Road, Longford, was charged with drink driving over an alleged offence on Ballinalee Road, Longford, on 20 August 2023, after Gardaí received a call about erratic driving and a later test returned a reading of 74/100. The defence said he is originally from Latvia and has lived in Ireland since 2011. He pleaded guilty at Longford District Court, and the judge registered a conviction, imposed a €450 fine and disqualified him from driving for three years, as reported on 25 July 2024.
