On 28 March 2021, two women were found sitting in the back of a parked Volkswagen Polo at Glenwood, Louth, and claimed the car belonged to one of them. Lindsey Quigley (25) and Andrea Merrigan (25) were both charged with interfering with the mechanism of the stationary vehicle after Gardaí investigated reports of a break-in to a parked car in a local housing estate. Both women were highly intoxicated at a house party in the area, the car was open, and no damage was caused. At Dundalk district court on 26 October 2021, Judge Eirinn McKiernan dismissed the charge against Merrigan and imposed a €300 fine on Quigley under the Probation Act.
