  Child psychiatrist Amirul Mohd Yunos, in his late 30s, groomed and sexually abused a girl who was 15 when most incidents occurred in Dublin between May and June 2023 and 16 at the final incident in September 2023. He worked at a CAMHS centre in Clonskeagh, and the girl was not formally his patient, although her parents, who knew him, had asked him to engage with her about mental health difficulties. He pleaded guilty in the Circuit Criminal Court to six counts of engaging in a sexual act with a child under 17, one count of sexual exploitation of a child and one count of meeting a child for the purpose of sexual exploitation, and was sentenced to 8½ years (reported elsewhere as eight years six months). The Medical Council suspended his registration in October 2023, and the High Court has now confirmed the Council's cancellation of his registration, with Mr Justice David Barniville saying the Council could impose no other sanction.
