A 23-year-old Brazilian man, Alexandre Athos Pinhero Teixeira, a Deliveroo driver, was chased and rammed by men in a stolen Skoda Kodiaq at around midnight on 31 October 2024 in the Mahon and Beaumont areas of Cork, following an alleged road rage interaction. One of the men got out of the car and attacked him, leaving him trapped under his Honda 125 motorbike with serious compound fractures to his left leg. He was taken to Cork University Hospital where he underwent surgery. Gardaí recovered the burnt-out Skoda in Carrignavar and are following a definite line of inquiry into the two men, who also rammed a Garda patrol car on the Old Mallow Road early the same morning.
