Alex Onuh (20), a man, pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to 15 counts of robbery and four counts of attempted robbery over knifepoint robberies of teenage boys in south Dublin between November 2023 and September 2024. The offences, which included phone and bank card thefts and a chase of a 17-year-old from a bus, took place mainly in Rathfarnham, Ballinteer and Dundrum. Gardaí recognised Onuh by a distinctive jacket and arrested him a few days after a January 2024 incident, then interviewed him and released him. On 2 December 2025 he was sentenced at the same court, and reports differ on the term: one says seven years in jail, while the key facts say consecutive sentences totalling eight years with the final year suspended.
