On 6 June 2024 at Glenwood, Dundalk, County Louth, Alekseijs Dubins, a 37-year-old man, was charged with being intoxicated in a public place and using threatening, abusive or insulting behaviour after he became abusive to ambulance personnel treating him. Gardaí had received a report of an assault shortly before 6am and found him with small cuts to his arm in an extremely intoxicated state. The case was heard at Dundalk District Court and reported on 10 September 2024, when Judge Stephanie Coggans struck out the charges after €300 was paid into court for the North Louth Hospice.
