Aidan Mulkearn, 49, of South Circular Road, Dublin 8, pleaded guilty at Dublin District Court to animal cruelty and assault causing harm after kicking a 41-year-old man's dog and punching the owner in the face at Winetavern Street on the morning of September 13, 2020. He also admitted four other attacks on men over three weeks, including punches at Harrington Street and South Circular Road. None of the victims was known to him. Judge Gerard Jones imposed a six-month suspended sentence on condition Mulkearn did not re-offend in two years, noting he had received a separate two-year suspended sentence the previous week for other assaults.
