On 24 February 2022, a motorist was detected travelling at 169 km/h in a 100 km/h zone on the N7 in Kildare during heavy rain and was arrested for dangerous driving by the Naas Roads Policing Unit. Aidan Boulton, 44, of Carbury, Kildare, was also charged with cannabis for supply at his address and cocaine for supply at Midland Regional Hospital, Tullamore, and Bracknagh village on 10 April 2021. At Tullamore Circuit Court, Judge Catherine Staines adjourned the matter to 6 April 2022 pending a forensic science laboratory report and directions from the DPP.
