Adrian Dunne, a 37-year-old man from Curragraigue, Enniscorthy, Co Wexford, pleaded guilty to illegal possession of drugs at Daybreak shop, Borris Road, Graignamanagh, Co Kilkenny, on 12 March 2025. CCTV showed he had accidentally dropped the amphetamines, valued at €60, at the till, and a member of the public handed them to staff who called gardaí. Dunne admitted in a garda interview that the drugs were his. Judge Geraldine Carthy adjourned the case to May, indicating a suspended sentence if Dunne stays on a clean path, and noted that anyone, including a child, could have picked up the drugs. Dunne has battled with drugs for three years and has just completed a six-month residential treatment course.
