On St Valentine's Day 2020, Adeleke Adelani, a 28-year-old man, forced a 26-year-old woman to take five misoprostol tablets at his home in Letterkenny, County Donegal, causing the termination of a nine-week pregnancy, and then locked her in a bedroom. The woman called gardaí when Adelani left the house to buy a pregnancy test, and he was arrested at the scene. In November 2025, Adelani pleaded guilty to unlawfully ending the life of a foetus and to assault causing harm. On 19 February 2026, Judge John Aylmer at Letterkenny Circuit Court sentenced him to nine years for the foetus charge and four and a half years for assault, both running concurrently and consecutively to a separate November 2025 sentence.

Adeleke Adelani, a 27-year-old non-Irish law student with an address in Letterkenny, Co Donegal, was sentenced at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to 21 months in prison for laundering more than €100,000 stolen in invoice redirection scams. The victims included Breda Waldron, a man building a house in Ballinteer, Co Cork, Western Brand Poultry in Mayo, and an Italian company. Adelani was arrested on 13 June 2022 and pleaded guilty to laundering €100,397 in criminal cash between November 2019 and January 2020. The 21-month sentence runs consecutively to his current sentence, and none of the stolen money has been recovered.

On 11 July 2022, a man was attacked, falsely imprisoned and robbed at Fortwell Apartments, Lower Main Street, Letterkenny, when a knife was held to his neck and over €2,500 and an Xbox were taken. The victim, Ravindranath Kolagotla, said he felt he had to leave Letterkenny after the ordeal. Adeleke Adelani, 27, and Promise Osagie, 22, were arrested and charged in connection with the incident, and both pleaded guilty to burglary, false imprisonment and producing a knife at Letterkenny Circuit Court in May 2025. Adelani was sentenced in November 2025 to five-and-a-half years in prison, with seven years for burglary and false imprisonment and three and a half years for the knife count to run concurrently, the final 18 months suspended.

A 24-year-old man, Adeleke Adelani, is charged with assaulting Latchman Baldeo at Riverside Apartments, Pearse Road, Letterkenny, on 14 May 2022.
