A man entered the Esker Hills Shop in Portlaoise, County Laois, on 29 March 2024 and threatened staff with what was believed to be a gun, stealing vapes worth €390 and other items. Adam Keogh, a 30-year-old man, was arrested on 27 August 2024 and charged with robbery. He appeared at Nenagh District Court on 30 August and was remanded in Limerick Prison. He then appeared at Portlaoise District Court on 4 September 2024, where Judge Nicola Andrews remanded him in custody to Cloverhill Prison to reappear by video link on 16 September 2024.
