  Adam Kennedy, a 19-year-old man from Rathdowney, Co Laois, was charged with being intoxicated and engaging in threatening behaviour at a shop on Church Street, Tullamore, on 5 March 2024. The offence allegedly involved verbal abuse of shop staff and Gardaí. He pleaded guilty at Tullamore District Court in the week before 25 May 2024. Judge Andrew Cody remanded him on continuing bail to 24 July and ordered him to pay €2,000 to the Garda Benevolent Fund by that date or face a possible custodial sentence.
