  Aaron Daly, 37, of Caherdavin, Limerick, was charged with two counts of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour in connection with alleged racist verbal attacks on canvassers for Fianna Fáil local election candidate Suzzie O'Deniyi. The incidents took place on 12 May 2024 on Rushdale Drive, Clareview, and on 16 May 2024 at City Hall, Merchant's Quay, Limerick. Daly was arrested and charged on 19 May 2024 and appeared before Limerick District Court on 20 May, where he made no reply to the charges and was granted bail on strict conditions. He failed to appear at Limerick District Court on 6 September 2024, and Judge Patricia Harney issued a bench warrant ordering his arrest. It is understood Daly has recently travelled to Crete in Greece.
