Aaron Corbett, a 22-year-old man from Pallaskenry, Limerick, was charged with assault causing harm following an incident on 13 June 2020 at a garden shed at the rear of his residence. The injured party, a young man, said he was assaulted after being told a cannabis joint he was smoking contained heroin or cocaine. Corbett previously appeared before Newcastle West Court, and the matter was up for finalisation before Judge Carol Anne Coolican in May 2022. Defence argued the injuries resulted from the victim falling off a wall, and the judge noted Corbett had lost control after learning about the Class A drugs. The case was adjourned to November 2022, and Corbett has put together €1,000 as compensation.
