Case No. 15016Assault · Co. Donegal · 1 Jan 2025

Woman allegedly assaulted in row over taxi in Ballybofey

A woman has alleged that a man assaulted her during a row over a taxi on Main Street, Ballybofey, Co Donegal, in the early hours of 1 January 2025, around 1.30am to 2am. Gardaí say the row broke out close to the AIB Bank between a group of males and a group of females over a taxi that had just pulled in, and the woman's injuries are not life-threatening. The case was first reported on 7 January 2025, when Gardaí appealed for witnesses or information and asked anyone who travelled on Main Street with a dash cam to contact them in Letterkenny. The articles report no arrest or charge, so the latest development is that appeal.
