Case No. 7632Assault · Co. Dublin · 19 Jul 2023

US tourist attacked on Talbot Street, Dublin, in July

On 19 July 2023, around 10.40pm, 57-year-old American man Stephen Termini was attacked by a group of young people at the corner of Store Street and Talbot Street in Dublin city centre, and was left with severe head and facial injuries. Gardaí arrested a male juvenile on the weekend of 22-23 July and charged him with assault causing harm; two further boys were arrested later in July. Three teenage boys, aged 14, 15 and 16, have been charged and were remanded on continuing bail pending DPP directions, with the next Children's Court date set for 5 October. The latest reports, from 24 and 25 August 2023, say Mr Termini has come out of his coma, is recovering well and is no longer in hospital.
