Two men arrested after loaded gun seized in Blanchardstown

At about 11.50pm on Sunday 16 July 2023, gardaí on patrol on Wellview Road in Blanchardstown, Dublin 15, saw a car travelling at high speed. The car did not stop when directed, a dark coloured bag was thrown from it, and a suspected loaded firearm was later found in a search of the area. Two men, aged in their 20s and 30s, were arrested at the scene and detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939.
