Two men arrested after cocaine and cannabis seized in Waterford under Operation Tara
As part of Operation Tara, Gardaí carried out two searches of domestic residences in Co. Waterford on 20 August 2025, seizing approximately 780g of suspected cocaine and 1kg of cannabis at a property in Tramore, and approximately 10kg of suspected cocaine and cash at a property in Waterford city. Two men, aged in their 20s and 50s, were arrested and detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking Act) 1996. Both men have since been charged. The man in his 50s is due before a special sitting of Naas District Court on 22 August 2025, and the man in his 20s is due before Waterford District Court on 9 September 2025. Investigations are ongoing.
