Two Lanesboro neighbours before Longford court over April 2024 dispute
On Monday 28 April 2024 at about 10:30pm, at the Cnoc na Gaoithe estate in Lanesboro, Longford, a dispute between neighbours Michael Fox (45) and Ovitta Chinenya (38) led to both men being arrested. Fox was charged with unlawful damage to a front door, threatening and abusive behaviour, and possession of an iron bar, and Chinenya was charged with possession of a blade with a sharp point. At Longford District Court the judge said she was not satisfied the incident was self-defence, and Chinenya was directed to take part in a restorative justice programme and pay €750 to the Little Blue Heroes charity. At the latest reported appearance in April 2025, Fox's matter was adjourned for a probation report and Chinenya's final decision was set for 10 June 2025.
