Tulla man pleads guilty to assault on younger brother
Conor O'Halloran, 41, pleaded guilty at Ennis Circuit Court on 18 July 2023 to the assault causing harm of his younger brother Daniel O'Halloran, 35, who was left with a large piece of his ear missing. The assault took place on 5 May 2021 at Liscullane, Tulla, Co Clare, during a disagreement between the brothers over land owned by Conor and farmed by Daniel. Daniel was taken to University Hospital Limerick for treatment. The case was previously before Ennis District Court, where judge Alec Gabbett declined jurisdiction, and it was adjourned to 28 July for a mention to fix a sentencing date. The defence said it would rely on psychological evidence at sentencing.
