Case No. 5926Murder · Co. Dublin · 24 Dec 2023

Teenager accused of murdering Tristan Sherry granted bail

On 24 December 2023, at about 8pm in Browne's Steakhouse in Blanchardstown, Dublin 15, Tristan Sherry (26) shot Jason Hennessy Sr (48), and Sherry was then attacked and fatally injured. Hennessy Sr died in hospital on 4 January 2024, and Sherry's murder led to charges against David Amah (18), Michael Andrecut, a 17-year-old boy and Wayne Deegan (26). Deegan was charged with murder on 18 April 2024 after the DPP directed the charge, and Brandon Hennessy, Hennessy Sr's son, is accused of violent disorder and producing a weapon. The latest development is that on 7 May 2024 the Court of Appeal granted the 17-year-old bail with conditions, while Amah and Andrecut remain in custody.
