Teenage girl sent for trial over threats and assault at residential care centre

A 17-year-old girl was sent for trial over threats and assault at a residential care centre in Kildare. On 25 July 2022 she allegedly threatened to kill a unit manager while kicking a door, and also threatened to damage a car. On 4 November 2022 she allegedly assaulted a staff member with a sweeping brush and threatened to have the person harmed. She made no reply when charged, and Judge Desmond Zaidan sent her forward for trial at Naas Circuit Court at Naas District Court. She will turn 18 in January 2024.
