Case No. 0693Judicial review · Co. Dublin

Supreme Court upholds Dublin City Council rezoning of Uniphar site for housing

The Supreme Court has cleared the way for Dublin City Council to rezone the former Uniphar healthcare premises just off the Chapelizod Bypass in Dublin from enterprise/employment to residential and commercial uses. A five-judge panel unanimously found on 2 July 2026 that a planning error, in which the name of an agent for an objector was listed in a report instead of the objector's own name, was trivial and technical. The High Court had quashed the council's rezoning decision in November 2025. The 1.82-hectare site, occupied by Uniphar from 2005, has largely been unused since 2017.
