Case No. 1159Rape (alleged), perjury (potential) · Co. Dublin · 10 Dec 2018

Supreme Court rejects McGregor appeal in Dublin civil rape case

Nikita Hand, a woman aged 35, alleges that Conor McGregor, a man aged 36, raped her in the penthouse suite of the Beacon Hotel in Dublin on 9 December 2018, and that James Lawrence, a man aged 36, also sexually assaulted her that night. The DPP decided not to prosecute in 2020, and Hand brought a civil damages action in 2021. A High Court jury found McGregor liable for the assault in November 2024 and awarded Hand €248,603 in damages, while finding Lawrence not liable. Gardaí are investigating perjury allegations involving Samantha O'Reilly and Stephen Cummins, whose affidavits were withdrawn at the start of the appeal. The Court of Appeal unanimously dismissed McGregor's appeal in July 2025, and the Supreme Court rejected his further appeal in December 2025.
