Roscrea man jailed for drug possession on three occasions

Tommy Murphy, 19, of Ard na Gréine, Knock Road, Roscrea, pleaded to possessing cannabis and Alprazolam tablets at Ormond Street, Nenagh, on 8 May 2022, and to possessing cannabis at Grove Street, Roscrea, on 20 July 2022. Nenagh District Court jailed him for two months on each cannabis count, to run concurrently, and took the Alprazolam possession into account. Both sentences run alongside a four-year term, with the final two years suspended, that Nenagh Circuit Criminal Court imposed in May for an attempted robbery of a fast-food outlet in Roscrea on 20 November 2021. The sentencing was reported on 5 June 2023.
