Partner of murdered Noel Kirwan gives statement at sentencing hearing for Declan Brady
Noel Kirwan, a 62-year-old man, was shot dead outside his home on St Ronan's Drive in Clondalkin, Dublin 22, on 22 December 2016, while his partner Bernadette Roe was in the car beside him. Declan Brady, a 57-year-old man, pleaded guilty to participating in a criminal organisation, namely the murder of Mr Kirwan, contrary to Section 72 of the Criminal Justice Act. At a sentencing hearing in the Special Criminal Court, the court heard details of Brady's involvement, and Ms Roe read a victim impact statement. The hearing was adjourned to 30 April so a probation report could be prepared, and no sentence has yet been reported.
