Case No. 3373Murder · Co. Meath · 14 Apr 2015

Murder of couple in Gormanston, Co Meath, under investigation

Willie Maughan, 34, and his pregnant partner Anastasija Varslavane, 21, were last seen on 14 April 2015 near the compound of crime boss Cornelius Price in Gormanston, Co Meath, and were never seen again. Detectives believe the couple were abducted and murdered at Price's fortified compound, with their bodies incinerated and ashes buried on site. The case was upgraded to a murder investigation in September 2016, and seven people have been arrested in connection with it. Price, 41, died in a hospital in 2023 from a brain disease, and a Garda search of open lands in north County Dublin in November 2024 did not locate the remains. In April 2026, Maughan's parents issued a public appeal for information on the 11-year anniversary of the couple's disappearance.
