Mother and daughter killed in Co Mayo road crash on N26 near Foxford
Aisling Moore, 46, and her daughter Abbigael Tournié Moore, 8, were killed when their Toyota car collided with a Scania truck driven by Martin Crean on the N26 at Callow, Foxford, Co Mayo, on 2 July 2024. The car came around a bend at speed on the wrong side of the road; the truck hit the car, pushed it along the road, then jackknifed and sent the car into a ditch. No defects that would have contributed to the collision were found in either vehicle. At an inquest at Mayo Coroner's Court in Ballina, the coroner recorded verdicts of accidental death, and the victims' father, Arnaud Tournié, based in France, read a letter to the court saying he does not hold the truck driver responsible.
