Man's finger partly cut off in Wexford assault

A man in his 20s had the top of a finger cut off during an assault at his home in Barntown, Co Wexford, earlier in August 2023, according to RTÉ reporting on 25 August 2023. It is understood that a number of people arrived at the house in the evening and assaulted him, using an implement to cut off part of one finger, and he was treated at Wexford General Hospital. Gardaí began an investigation after they became aware of the assault when he was in hospital. As of 25 August 2023 no arrests had been made, and the inquiry is believed to be at an advanced stage.
