Man remanded on bail ahead of sentencing for 2022 Limerick City attack on homeless man

On May 8, 2022, at about 5.20am at the junction of Wickham Street and Thomas Street in Limerick City, Declan Quinlivan, a homeless man, was kicked and punched by three men while he lay on the ground, and cash, cigarettes and a mobile phone were taken from him. Two of the attackers were arrested at the scene, and gardaí located Aaron Holland, 19, in October 2022 after identifying him from CCTV footage. Holland, of Marian Road, Templemore, Co Tipperary, pleaded guilty to one count of violent disorder, and the DPP had directed that all three accused be prosecuted on that charge. On May 7, 2024, Holland appeared before Limerick Circuit Criminal Court, where he was remanded on continuing bail for a probation report and sentencing on June 19.
