Man pleads guilty to 2010 Limerick murder and firearm charge
Lee Slattery, a 24-year-old father-of-one from Ballynanty Beg, Limerick (reports differ, giving 25), was shot several times in the head and body and buried in a shallow grave at Delmege House estate near Moyross, Limerick. His body was discovered on 31 May 2010 by his father, Ray Slattery, after the family received confidential information about its location, several days after Slattery was reported missing on 27 May 2010. The investigation saw more than 30 arrests over the years, with most released without charge. In September 2025, six people were arrested and Kurt Ryan, 32 (reports differ: 33), of Moyross, Limerick, was charged with murder on 17 September 2025. Ryan went on trial at the Central Criminal Court in Cork in October 2026 and pleaded guilty to commission of murder in association with a criminal organisation and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life; the case is listed for mention on 27 October 2026 to fix a sentencing date.
