Man jailed for three years for sexually assaulting his daughter

A 50-year-old man was sexually assaulted his daughter, then around 12, at an address in Co. Dublin between January 2016 and August 2017. The victim complained to Gardaí in 2023, and Gardaí interviewed the man but obtained nothing of evidential value. He pleaded guilty to sexual assault in January, and on 27 February 2025 Dublin Circuit Criminal Court jailed him for three years, backdated to January. He has five previous convictions, including for rape and sexual assault.
