Man in his 40s arrested after €220,000 of cannabis seized in Lucan, Dublin

On Thursday 25 July 2024, Revenue officers and gardaí seized about 11kg of herbal cannabis valued at an estimated €220,000 in the Lucan area of Co Dublin, in a joint operation with the GNDOCB and the Q District Drugs Unit. A man in his 40s, whose name and nationality were not given, was arrested that day and detained at a west Dublin Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996. Revenue said investigations were ongoing. On Friday 26 July 2024 it was reported that the man had been charged and was due before Blanchardstown District Court that morning at about 10.30am.
