A man in his 20s was killed in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash on the N77 at the junction of Portlaoise Road and Ballyroan Road in Abbeyleix, Co Laois, at approximately 7:50pm on Tuesday 8 July 2025. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was taken to the mortuary at Midlands Regional Hospital in Portlaoise, where a post-mortem is to be carried out.
