Man given suspended sentence over possession of child sexual abuse material in Dublin

Piotr Grycuk, a 45-year-old Polish man, was found with 10,347 images and three videos of child sexual abuse material at his home in Ballsbridge, Dublin, when gardaí raided the flat on 23 July 2018 after being alerted by law enforcement in America. He later contacted gardaí and handed over memory cards and sticks, and he pleaded guilty to possessing the material. The Dublin Circuit Criminal Court heard that he had self-referred for therapy before his arrest and was assessed as low risk of reoffending. On 10 July 2024 Judge Martin Nolan gave him a three-year sentence, suspended in full, with 18 months of Probation supervision.
