Man further remanded over €1m cocaine seizure at Cork Airport
On 31 August 2026 customs officers at Cork Airport stopped Patrick Cahill, a 39-year-old man originally from Dublin, after he collected his checked-in baggage from the carousel, and cocaine with an estimated street value of about €1 million was seized. Cahill was charged with possession of cocaine and possession of cocaine for sale or supply, made no reply under caution at Togher Garda Station, and appeared at Cork District Court, where Judge David Waters remanded him in custody with consent to bail after gardaí objected to bail. He consented to a four-week remand with the case due back on 9 September, and was further remanded in custody with consent to bail until 7 October, when he will appear by video link for DPP directions.
