Man charged after loaded sawn-off shotgun and ammunition seized in Drogheda

Gardaí in Drogheda arrested Glenn Douch (35), of Oakwood Park, Termon Abbey, on Sunday 24 September 2023, after a Section 29 warrant was executed at an address there and a Beretta sawn-off shotgun and ammunition were allegedly found in a bedroom. He was charged with possessing a loaded sawn-off shotgun and seven rounds of ammunition under the Firearms Act. On Tuesday 26 September 2023 he appeared before Drogheda District Court, made no reply to the charge, and was remanded in custody to Cloverhill Prison. He is due to appear again by videolink on Monday 2 October 2023, and the Director of Public Prosecutions has not yet issued directions.
