Man charged after cannabis seizure in County Roscommon

On Thursday 19 October 2023 gardaí searched a residence at Annaghmore in Kilteevan, County Roscommon, as part of Operation Tara and seized suspected cannabis and cash. Two men, both in their late 40s, were arrested and detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996, and one man in his 40s was later charged. The second man was released without charge, and the charged man was expected to appear before Castlerea District Court on Friday 20 October 2023 at 10:30am. A file is to be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions, and investigations are ongoing.
