Man admits sexual abuse of two girls in Munster court

Between 2021 and 2025, a man who is 74 sexually abused two girls, who were aged 11 to 14 at the time, according to a case heard at a Circuit Criminal Court in Munster. In 2021 one girl told a teacher, and the complaint was referred to Tusla, which found "accidental touching" and took no further action. Gardaí arrested the man in September 2025 after the girls wrote letters to their parents and gave gardaí recordings of him admitting the abuse. In May 2026 he pleaded guilty to 29 counts of sexual assault, and he was remanded in custody to 3 June 2026 to await sentence.
