Limerick man jailed over vehicle supplied for attempted murder of Christy Keane
Noel Price, a 45-year-old man from Limerick, helped the McCarthy-Dundon gang in the attempted murder of convicted drug dealer Christy Keane, who was shot several times as he parked his car at the University of Limerick. The offence was alleged to have occurred between 27 and 29 June 2015, and Keane survived and was hospitalised in a critical condition. Price pleaded guilty to assisting in making a vehicle available to the criminal organisation, an offence under section 72 of the Criminal Justice Act 2006. On 27 July 2023 the Special Criminal Court, presided over by Mr Justice Alexander Owens, jailed him for six and a half years, after a headline sentence of ten years, a 25 per cent reduction and a suspended final year.
