Limerick man jailed for child pornography offences

Terence Fitzpatrick, aged 46, of Donnellan's Buildings, Rossbrien, Limerick, was arrested in February 2022 over child pornography he allegedly possessed and distributed between September 2021 and February 2022, after the US National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children alerted gardaí. He was charged with production and possession of child pornography, and at Limerick Circuit Court he pleaded guilty to four charges of possession and distribution. Sources differ on the timing of sentencing: a 26 June 2026 report says Judge Colin Daly adjourned it to a July date, while a 27 June 2026 report says he was jailed for 12 months with the sentences running concurrently. He was also ordered to be registered as a sex offender, and a destruction order was made for material found on his devices.
