Laois man jailed for 11 years for sexual assault and rape of young stepdaughter

A 49-year-old Laois man, who cannot be named to protect the identity of the injured party, was convicted by a Central Criminal Court jury of two counts of sexual assault and one count of rape of his stepdaughter, aged 10–11, on dates between 2017 and 2019. Mr Justice Kerida Naidoo sentenced him to 12 years and 6 months on 12 October 2026, suspending the final 18 months.
