Killarney tourist robbery case sent to Circuit Court
On 22 April, a 24-year-old Lithuanian man, Tomas Starodubcevas, was charged with robbing American tourist Andrea Bartlett, an elderly woman, of €325 on Port Road in Killarney. It is alleged that he approached her from behind, causing her to fall and break her arm. He appeared before Listowel District Court in May and was remanded on bail with conditions. In July, Judge David Waters refused jurisdiction, so the case was adjourned to September for a book of evidence to be compiled for the Circuit Court, where it is to be dealt with, and he remains on continuing bail until then.
